  1.  Name and explain the function of all brain structures discussed in lecture.
       Start at the hindbrain and proceed to the forebrain.

  2.  Describe the flow of cerebrospinal fluid from the structure in which it is manufactured
       to when it exits into the veins.

  3.  Number and name the 12 cranial nerves.  Indicate whether they are sensory, motor, or mixed,
       describe their function, and the test for each.

 

  4.  Name the 5 different regions of the spinal nerves and indicate how many spinal nerves
       in each region.

 

  5.  Describe a reflex arc including all the structures involved from stimulation to response.

 

  6.  Name the functional areas of the brain for each of the 5 senses and describe where
       they are located using the terminology relative to the lobes and gyrus’s of the brain.

 

  7. Describe the structure of the autonomic nervous system including the neurotransmitters used
      for each division. Also explain the effects of the autonomic nervous system on
      3 separate structures.

Give a complete description of the anatomy & physiology of the 2 following senses.
Include the neural pathways.

 

   8.  VISION – make sure to include a detailed description of the retina and how incoming light
                             generates an action potential in the bipolar cells.

 

  9.. HEARING – describe the entire pathway of sound from the point at which sound waves
                                   enter the ear until an action potential is generated
